Punk Rock

August 13th, 2008 . by Roxor

Punk rock is known to be one of the most fiercely anti-establishment genres of music that your parents would hate to listen to at any point of time. The origin of this popular music genre can be traced back to the years between 11974 and 1977 in the region of UK, US and Australia. The major feature of this music form is that it is stripped down to instrumentation with harder, political and nihilistic lyrics. Some of the lyrics of punk rock even brazen out relationships and sex as its predominant themes.

The punk rock became most popular with the youth due to its anti-sentimentality. It also had to confront many scandals due to the change in the way the youth started living lives by adopting particular dressing style and anti-authoritarian philosophies. In the recent times, this music genre has been made a center of much appreciation by new pop punk rock bands such as ‘Green Day’.
