Kanye West and Jay-Z Both Preparing for Upcoming Album Releases

September 26th, 2008 . by Roxor

Kanye West is planning the release of his upcoming album with Def Jam. According to his management, the album title is still not officially confirmed. The album, which is rumored to be called “Good Ass Job”, is speculated to be released at the end of this year. This will be his fourth studio album. Kanye’s previous album, Graduation, was released in September of last year and has sold around 2.2 million copies in the United States.

According to rumors, Kanye may be performing a new track called “Love Lockdown”, at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday. The single itself is supposed to hit the stands the on the following day, September 8.

Last year, Kanye became angry over losing at the VMA’s and vowed “never to preform there again.” Kanye has made it no secret that he feels cheated at times during music award shows, even though he has won many. He was also upset over the very small stage he had to preform on last year, as well as MTV “exploiting” Britney Spears.

This year, MTV managed to bring him back once again by promising him both the closing spot and a larger stage. Kanye’s hit song “Homecoming”, which features Chris Martin, is nominated for Best Hip Hop Video. There is a good chance that the song will win.

Kanye has also been working on tracks for fellow rapper Jay-Z’s upcoming album, Blueprint II”. The upcoming single, “Swagger Like Us”, will feature Jay-Z, Kanye West, and other rappers including T.I. and Lil Wayne.

Jay Z’s upcoming album itself, Paper Trail, will be hitting stores at the end of this month. Kanye will be featured on other tracks as well.

Nickelback’s Multi-Million Dollar Deal with Live Nation

September 22nd, 2008 . by Roxor

Nickelback’s follow-up to their 2005 album, “All the Right Reasons”, is set to be released on November 18 from Roadrunner records. The upcoming album, which is currently untitled, will feature their upcoming single, “If Today Was Your Last Day”. This will be the first single from the as of yet untitled album, and it will be hitting U.S. radios on September 30.

Nickelback is currently recording other songs for the album with Mutt Lange in Vancouver. Producer Mutt Lange, who is Shania Twain’s ex husband, hasn’t worked on any new projects since his ex-wife’s 2003 album, Up.

Their previous album, All the Right Reasons, sold nearly 7 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Sound Scan. Nickelback signed a deal with Live Nation in July, giving them rights to recordings once the Roadrunner deal is completed. They are expected to perform in Live Nation amphitheaters early next year.

Live Nation is a popular, concert-promoting organization that has also worked with Madonna and Jay-Z. They have also recently signed deals with U2 and Shakira, as well as Nickelback. Live Nation’s multi-rights deal with Nickelback has been confirmed to be worth $50-$70 million. The band will be receiving the money overtime as they perform in Live Nation theaters around the world.

Live Nation has acquired twelve artist rights with Nickelback, including: touring, fan club rights, tour sponsorship, travel packages, licensing, endorsements, etc. Nickelback’s merchandising team will also work with Live Nation in the future. Live Nation recently stated that the “deal contemplates all areas of Nickelback’s music enterprises”. This deal includes at least three tours and albums.

Live Nation obviously means business where Nickelback is concerned. They’re going to make certain that Nickelback brings the roof down at all of their amphitheaters. Nickelback ranked 20th place among touring acts in 2007, and if all goes as planned with Live Nation, they’ll most likely rank even higher this time around.

Blues music is mostly known for its deep inclination towards the African-American community of the US. This music genre is well characterised by the instrumental and vocal music, the profound base of which is found to be on the blue notes. The concept of this music genre arises from that of chants, spirituality, ballads and work songs. However, the foundation of many other popular music forms, like heavy metal, jazz, rhythm and blues and hip-hop is based on Blues music.

The other major characteristic of Blues music is that it reflects the singer’s profound mood, especially that of depression and sadness. The first Blues music released to express the depressed mood was Hart Wand’s ‘Dallas Blues’. There is some kind of common distinctiveness in this music genre. However, the pre-blues music could be simply a solong song with some kind of emotional touch. The lyrics of the blues music are completely based on reputation. The mournful tunes successfully manage to capture the essence of the music lovers.
