Catch and Release

April 30th, 2007 . by Roxor

Catch and Release Soundtrack

The Catch and Release soundtrack does justice to the bittersweet romantic comedy in a way that has already been compared to Garden State, whose every song was carefully woven into the storyline.

When the fiancĂ© of a quirky young girl (played by Jennifer Garner) dies in a tragic accident during his bachelor party, and an equally quirky assortment of friends (including Timothy Olyphant in his first movie role since “Deadwood,” and Clerks’ Kevin Smith) step into the picture

Featuring ’90s and ’00s tracks by established bands (Gomez, Doves, Foo Fighters, The Lemonheads), major alternative darlings (The Magic Numbers, Joshua Radin, Death Cab For Cutie), under-the-radar indies (Blinker The Star, New Radiant Storm King, Audible, Peter MacLaggan, Alaska!).

Catch And Release Videos Streams:

“Nest For Two” - Blinker The Star

“Turning Blue” - The Swallows

“What I Done” - Andrew Rodriguez

Big Head Todd Sound Archive and Podcast

April 30th, 2007 . by Roxor

Big Head ToddI’ve downloaded all of the MP3’s here ( bottom of the page, the Free Music Archive ) but now the fantastic Big Head Todd is posting live MP3’s as podcasts.

They’ve moved the Free music archive that was located on the mp3s page but in an effort to simplify the website and make it less confusing they’ve added it to this new page.

So now you can still download the great free alternative tracks and tracks you can’t anywhere else ( I like Family Situation and Halo  ) but you can also download all of this great live music or even subscribe to the podcast.

On Stage - Let The Fans Decide

OurStage, the only 100% democratic online competition for emerging music and film talent where the fans decide who’s the best, is pleased to invite musicians and bands of all genres to enter the competition at www.ourstage.com/go/beatwire where over $10,000 in monthly cash prizes and coveted exposure with industry trailblazers is up for grabs.

The OurStage mission is to help talented artists achieve critical exposure by solving the greatest challenge on the Internet today: sorting quality content from the sea of mediocrity online. OurStage provides a neutral, trusted, non-gameable platform, in which the true judgment of the fans drives the best content to the top by allowing them to rank (not rate) online entertainment content.

“We started OurStage with a clear vision—to finally deliver on the promise of the Internet—allowing creators of great entertainment to find their audience and launch their careers without a middleman hijacking their creativity and income,” says Ben Campbell, founder and CEO of OurStage.

Musicians can enter the OurStage competition in ten categories: rock, indie/alternative, pop, acoustic, hip hop, country/Americana, jazz/blues, hard rock, experimental, and electronic.

To enter your best songs or music videos, or to take part in judging the competition, visit www.ourstage.com/go/beatwire

Paul Rodgers - Live In Glasgow

April 17th, 2007 . by Roxor

Paul Rodgers

Live In Glasgow, recorded in October of 2006 on the last date of his Sold Out UK tour (which included a date at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall),  is stunning proof that Rodgers’ voice sounds as good as ever - and that is saying something.

This CD includes brand new songs “Warboys (A Prayer for Peace)” and “Far Distant Shore,”  as well as songs he has not performed in 35 years, and many of his hits, including “All Right Now,” “Feel Like Making Love” and “Can’t Get Enough.” Soulful, bluesy, swaggering, he belts out his songs, and also plays piano and guitar.
